Prince2Training offers accredited Agile training and certification courses in Melbourne and Perth. We offer a 2-day AgilePM Foundation and a 2-day Agile PM Practitioner training. AgilePM is an agile project management approach developed by APMG and the Agile Business Consortium. It is derived from the DSDM Agile Project Framework and is designed to support APMG’s AgilePM Foundation and Practitioner certification programs.

Where agile projects can sometimes run a high risk of delay and budget overruns due to the informality of project processes, AgilePM combines the agile way of working with DSDM’s Agile Project Framework. Integrating DSDM philosophy, principles, processes, roles, products and practices, to create a flexible project management approach for agile projects.

What is Agile project management training?

Agile project management can be described as the application of a management approach founded on both project and agile philosophies, principles and practices. Such an approach allows for an appropriate level of management and controls whilst simultaneously facilitating a key aim of agile working: delivery of value to customers faster.

There are two proven frameworks that support the application of project and agile philosophies, principles and practices. They are AgilePM and PRINCE2 Agile.

Learn these frameworks and get certified by attending an AgilePM Foundation or AgilePM Foundation + Practitioner course or if you’re seeking to integrate agile ways of working with your current use of PRINCE2, enrol into a PRINCE2 Agile Foundation or PRINCE2 Agile Foundation + Practitioner course.

How much does an agile certification cost?

Course fees for agile courses vary dependent on agile course type and agile course level. Most of our agile courses have 2 levels: Foundation (or equivalent) and Practitioner. You can commence your agile training and certification in the most economical way by completing an agile self-paced e-learning course or should you prefer a classroom course visit our course schedule for dates and pricing:

How long does it take to get agile certified?

Time to get certified is dependent on the agile course you select and the delivery format (self-paced training vs classroom training). The learning effort for both self-paced and classroom training is similar, and factors such as available time and dates will influence the period to get certified.

Our agile courses include: AgilePM, PRINCE2 Agile, AgileDS, AgilePgM and AgileSHIFT, most of which are available in two levels: Foundation & Practitioner. Where Foundation is focused on building knowledge on the framework, the Practitioner focuses on furthering knowledge on the application of the framework. Foundation level classroom courses range from 2 days (AgilePM, AgilePgM, AgileSHIFT, PRINCE2 Agile) to 3 days (AgileDS). Practitioner level courses range from 1 day (AgileDS), 2 days (AgilePM) or 3 days (PRINCE2 Agile).

In selecting the agile course for you, it is important to recognize each agile framework is designed with a specific purpose and environment in mind. If you need help in selecting the course that best suits your needs contact us and speak to a member of our team.

Which agile course is best for beginners?

Our 2 day AgilePM Foundation course is designed to develop a working knowledge of agile principles and key practices suitable for a project environment. An ideal course for those wanting to start applying agile ways of working and seeking a recognized agile Foundation certification.

What is the difference between agile and scrum?

Agile is used to describe an approach of working based on a set of principles and practices such as iterative product development that facilitate the delivery of value to customers faster. There are many frameworks designed to assist with applying agile principles and practices. Scrum is one such framework. Others include AgilePM, PRINCE2 Agile, DevOps, plus many more. Each framework has been designed for a specific purpose, for example, agile Scrum is designed for an ongoing operations environment with focus on software development. Whereas, AgilePM is a ‘true’ agile project management framework.
